What are the opening hours?
Our current opening hours are 6 am to 10 pm Monday to Friday, Saturdays and Sundays 9 am to 5 pm.
How old do I have to be to join ActivateFit.Gym? What is the minimum age?
- 14 or 15 Years Old
- Parent or guardian must be present at all times while training
- You may use cardiovascular equipment
- You may take part in group fitness classes that do not use weights (including Boxing and Circuits style exercises)
- 16 or 17 Years Old
- You may train unsupervised and can do resistance training exercise provided you have completed an initial consultation with a qualified staff member and they have set a suitable training program for you
- 14 or 15 Years Old
Does the gym have personal training?
Where is the gym located?
745 Harris Street, Ultimo NSW 2007 (opposite ABC).
Do you have a pool or a sauna?
We have a partnership with City Cave Broadway, use the code ACTIVATEUTS to get a discount on saunas and floats!
What do I need to bring to the gym?
What equipment does the gym have?
Recent life fitness cardio machines, rowers and ski erg, assault bike, lifting platforms, racks and benches, dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells, pin and plate-loaded machines, GHD, hip thrust machine, medicine balls and power bags, sleds and sled track, TRX suspension straps and olympic rings.
How do I make a complaint?
We take the satisfaction of our members very seriously at ActivateFit.Gym. If you would like to provide feedback or a complaint please reach out to the club manager at activatefit.gym@uts.edu.au
Can I bring a friend to ActivateFit.Gym?
Whilst we do not currently have any ‘bring a friend’ membership options, keep an eye on our social media pages as we do run ‘refer a friend’ or ‘bring a friend for free’ promotions from time to time.
When is a quiet time to visit ActivateFit.Gym?
Our peak times are usually 12 - 2pm and 5 - 8pm, so outside of these times is best if you prefer a quieter gym.
Do I need to bring a towel?
Yes, ActivateFit.Gym has a mandatory ‘no towel, no train’ policy so you will need to ensure you have one at all times on the gym floor - even when participating in classes or doing light exercise. Don’t have one with you? We have them available for hire or purchase at gym reception. We also require you to wear enclosed footwear and appropriate clothing.
Who can I ask if I have trouble with the gym equipment?
Many of our team are fully qualified personal trainers, and would be happy to take the time to show you how to use a machine or piece of equipment you are unfamiliar with. Speak to us at reception for assistance.
Do you have lockers?
Yes! Our lockers are located within the changerooms and are available for free for our members while training in the gym. Please note, long-term locker hire is not available.
I have a Fitness Passport, how do I access the gym?
We charge a $10 access card fee when joining as a Fitness Passport member. Please bring your fitness passport card to join. The sign up process is then completed on our website or at gym reception.
What do I do if the fire alarm goes off?
Follow the instructions provided by gym staff and UTS Fire Wardens at all times. In the event of an evacuation, staff will guide you out of the building and to the designated safe evacuation area.
I have lost something in the gym, who do I contact?
Give our team at reception a call during our opening hours on 9514 2444 and they will be happy to help.
What are you doing to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 infection at ActivateFit.Gym?
Our professional cleaning staff ensure all our equipment and facilities are kept clean and sanitised 4+ times per day. We also have antibacterial disinfectant wipes throughout the gym, and encourage all members to ensure they wipe down their equipment after each use. Finally, we have hand sanitiser available for members at gym reception and throughout the gym floor.

What's included in the ActivateFit.Gym membership?
With any ActivateFit.Gym membership you get full access to all of our facilities and training spaces, as well as all group fitness classes.
I have billing questions.
How can I freeze my membership?
Reach out to our team on 9514 2444 or via activatefit.gym@uts.edu.au and they can assist you. Please note, as per our membership terms and conditions, only 6 and 12-month memberships may be suspended, and the $10 suspension fee must be paid at time of suspension.
I need to pause my membership due to injury or to travel. How do I temporarily freeze my membership?

What do I do if I have lost my membership card?
You will need to purchase another access card from reception for $10.
I want to cancel my membership. How do I go about this?
For Direct Debit memberships currently outside of your minimum term, you are required to provide 4 weeks notice to cancel your membership. Reach out to our team on 9514 2444 or via activatefit.gym@uts.edu.au and they can assist you.
How do I sign up for a membership?
Memberships can be purchased via our website here or in-person at the gym reception. The process only takes around 5 minutes to complete, and if you do so in-person at the gym, you can collect your membership card straight away!
Can I pay month-by-month?
We have a range of membership options available! You can choose to pay upfront for as little as a month or up to 12 months, or go for one of our direct debit memberships if you prefer to pay weekly.
Does ActivateFit.Gym offer student discounts?
Yes! Not only do we offer discounts for UTS Students and Staff, we also have an ‘Other Student’ price category which anyone can be eligible for as long as you can provide sufficient proof of enrolment. Get in touch with us for more information.

How do I update my personal details or account details?
In future, you will be able to do this on our website. For now, please see our team at gym reception or give us a call on 9514 2444.
Classes
Do you have classes? Are they included in membership, or separate?
Sure do, all are included in any visit pass or membership. Class timetable is available online.
Do you have any programs for UTS faculties and their staff?

Do I need to bring anything to the fitness classes?
Towels are always required when using the gym. We recommend also bringing along a water bottle to stay hydrated during the class. Please bring cotton gloves for boxing and Pilates socks for Reformer Pilates
Enclosed footwear and appropriate clothing is also a must.
